During the summer research survey (2017), the LWRC Science Program offered the Misipawistik Cree Nation a new floating swimming dock. This was in recognition of the community’s hospitality over the years in allowing the MV Namao to overnight at the Fisherman’s Dock (and because the MV Namao takes up all the space used by the children for swimming). The floating dock was constructed on site by the crew of the MV Namao and will be anchored off the beach in front of the Health Centre for families to enjoy over the summer months.
